It is with great delight that I welcome you to the website of Bali Island School (BIS), formerly Bali International School, and to the wonderful vibrant island of Bali. BIS has been established in Bali for over 30 years and continues to earn a reputation as a provider of top-quality education to children of both expat and local families. We are also very proud to be the only school in Bali to offer all 3 IB International Baccalaureate Organization (IBO) programmes, the Primary Years Programme, the Middle Years Programme and the Diploma Programme.
As an authorized IB World School, we have developed a rigorous and academically challenging curriculum that ensures that we meet our school-wide learning outcomes that are driven by the IB Learner Profile attributes, thus preparing our students for an ever-changing and dynamic world.
Additionally, we are a fully accredited school with the Western Association with Schools and Colleges and the Council of International Schools. Being accredited demonstrates alignment with a set of very exacting standards of high-quality education and opens doors to many of the top international universities around the world for our graduating students.
To further promote international-mindedness and global citizenship, our school calendar is always very busy, full of academic and non-academic celebrations, festivals and other culturally enriching events. In addition to the rich curriculum on offer at BIS, we also provide a varied co-curricular activities programme after school to enrich and enhance the students’ learning experiences at BIS.
Our campus opened in 1985 and boasts an array of science laboratories, music, ICT, art and general classrooms and other specialized areas, such as our well-stocked library, multi-purpose room, swimming pool and covered sports area. Our team of highly qualified and experienced educators are truly global with teachers coming from many corners of the world, working in close collaboration with their Indonesian colleagues.
The role of the community is also very important to us at BIS and we are constantly exploring options to strengthen the partnership we have with our parents and other family members via our active Parent Teacher Association.
