Between a student body of approximately 300, nearly 60 teachers and teacher assistants, and a support, security and admin staff of more than 60, there's a lot of really interesting people at Bali International School. All of whom deserve to be known a little better.

This week, meet Pak Heri, the super-man who makes sure everything at BIS is running smoothly and keeps the school looking fantastic.

Position at school: Head of Facilities Department
Do you have any children? An 8-year-old son.
Describe a day in the life of Pak Heri at BIS… It is my job to ensure that the day to day workings and maintenance at BIS are under control, especially the ones requested by teachers!
How long have you been working at BIS? Eight years.
What did you want to be when you were growing up? A teacher and social worker.
Aside from this job, what other jobs have you had? I have taught English to my only son and my neighbours. And I have to help my wife with the house work – now that's hard work!
What's your favourite time of day? Afternoon, when all the energy has faded away, but then I get to go home to be with my family again and get my energy reserves recharged.
What do you do when you really need to relax and forget about work? I spend time with my family and make sure nobody can disturb me with school matters.
Favourite place in Bali? Bedugul.
The first place you'd go on holiday… my home town in Flores.
The last place you'd go on holiday… to a place where I am not expected.
What is the most special thing about BIS in your opinion? It’s a meeting spot of various cultures from around the whole world! BIS is a wonderful and amazing educational institution for future generations who act locally but think internationally.
